Working with SVG's in Design Space

Today we are going to talk about uploading svg images to design space.

You can start by creating a new file or add an svg to an existing file. Either works the same way.

Step 1. Click on "Upload images".

Step 2. Select the "upload image" button.

Step 3. Locate the file on your computer. It will not have a thumbnail and will most likely look like a webpage icon as shown below. Click on it, then click open. (Or double click on it) Then click save.

On a side note: If you are purchasing a group of files, it is very easy at this point to upload the wrong file type because you visually see the file you want as a thumbnail. So, to make sure it is the svg, you can hover your mouse over it and it will tell you the file type. I do get a good amount of convo's saying it's not in svg format and this is usually the problem. I never have an issue answering, as I like personal communication, but it saves the person frustration in the end and a little time waiting for me to write back, which I always feel bad for.

Step 4. You will now notice your svg shown below. That will be there "forever", or at least until you delete it. So you wont have to upload that particular svg again.

Now, click on the svg you just uploaded (or the one you want to use). And click on the green "insert image" button in the lower right corner.

Step 5. Your svg has now been imported into design space as one "grouped" image. To work with it, just click on it, right click, then click on "ungroup".

This will enable you to individually manipulate different parts of the svg depending on what the creator wanted to be manipulated.

Step 6. Once the image is ungrouped, you will be able to move things around, change colors, sizes, you name it.

You can change colors in the "layers" tab on the right. Just click on the object you want to change and the attributes tab will appear.
